I Am Tavo (Short for Gustavo)

I am a biologist with a deep interest in the relations and interactions between people and nature, human cultures, wildlife, conservation, and our role in this amazing Planet Earth. I discovered, after more than 40 years traveling around the World and working on environmental management and trying to find solutions for our relations as humans with nature, that photography is a powerful tool.

Behind every image that you will see in this website, there's a story about our relationship with the planet and with our own specie. We are living challenging times in our planet these days and photographers have a key role showing how special is Earth, its biodiversity and how can we live together.

From my current location in New York, I'm exploring the intricated relations between humans and the urban ecosystems, and I'm also engaged in a campaign to show the World what I witnessed along my 60 years of life. From the rainforests to the old cultures of China, from the amazing art and architecture of Europe to the microworlds of Insects, I hope you enjoy the stories behind each gallery of this website!
