On June 25, 2025, while I was very respectfully debating the need for critical thinking and not accepting every premise published on the internet, I was immediately blocked by Facebook. This network not only blocked me from debating in the group I was in (a group on creationism and evolution), but also blocked my participation for a long time in all the groups I belong to.

My comments are always respectful. I never insult and I always back up my comments with sufficient evidence. I never incite violence, and those who know me well know that I am a pacifist. My identity is always clear, and anyone who visits my profile can know who I am (I fully identify myself). I never expose anyone's privacy and I respect intellectual property. My language never incites hate, I don't bully, I don't spam, I don't spread fake news or misinformation, and whenever possible, I stay away from dangerous individuals or organizations.

With this, I want to make it clear that I was not blocked for violating Facebook's community standards. Rather, my block was due to the fact that I literally expressed my opinion on the need for science to base its theories and hypotheses on solid, verifiable, reproducible, and observable evidence. I was blocked for that opinion, not for engaging in aggression or attacking anyone. I was literally blocked for defending science. However, as is common practice on Facebook, I received no explanation as to the reason for my block, nor is there a channel to demand an explanation.

When a "social network" constantly monitors what you write and your comments, dictating what you should and shouldn't express your opinion, it ceases to be a social network and becomes an instrument of propaganda and indoctrination. The moment ideas expressed with respect and strict adherence to the truth are censored, blocked, or deleted, freedom of expression ends.

Facebook and all social media platforms thrive on the content posted by users. The power of these social media platforms lies with their users, and without them, these networks would die. But if the content posted by users is controlled and dictated by social media platforms, there is no diversity of opinions; instead, it is directed toward what social media platforms consider to be correct. Whether they are wrong or not, ultimately, we are currently under a system in which the ideas of social media platforms dictate what we think and what we like or dislike.

This is what we are witnessing right now, and if we don't do something about it, we will grant control over our judgment and tastes to social media platforms. How can we combat it? Let's remember that the true power of social media platforms lies with their users. It's you and me. If what we post on social media lacks real content, they will never be able to understand our tastes or opinions; or use us to impose their opinions on other ideologies or thoughts.

The PERIOD is neutral. It expresses nothing meaningful. It is the end of something and the beginning of something else. It has no ideology and expresses nothing. It is neutral. Therefore, when I publish a period on social media, I am providing neutral content. Except, of course, because it is my way of nonviolently and completely respectfully protesting the abuse of social media against freedom of expression.
